Embroidered anime shirts and hoodies

On these pieces the artwork is dense-stitch embroidery rather than a print. The design is thread worked into the garment, not a layer sitting on top of it, so there is nothing to crack, peel or fade at a different rate from the cloth. Most of the embroidered anime shirts are on the vintage tee blank: 32S cotton at 270gsm with a vintage wash, in a relaxed oversized cut that is true to size.

Placement

Most pieces carry the embroidery on the chest, as a panel, a patch or a smaller mark, and a few run it across the back. The collection also holds a fleece classic hoodie and a vintage hoodie with embroidery, a tie-dye tee with a small embroidered panel, and a BSRK knitted sweater with embroidery on the knit. Each of those is on its own blank, and the product page names it.

Caring for embroidery

Thread cannot crack, but it can snag or pucker. Wash inside out, in a mesh laundry bag if you have one, so nothing with a zip or a hook catches the stitches. Press from the back, around the embroidery, never on its face, and hang or lay flat to dry, because a hot dryer can tighten the thread and pucker the cloth around it. The washing guide for garment-washed tees covers this with the rest of the range.

Designs come from across the archive, with the most from OP shirts, BSRK shirts, JJK shirts and NRTO shirts. Printed versions of many of the same franchises are in the vintage washed tees.

Questions
Does embroidery crack or peel like a print?

No. Dense-stitch embroidery is thread worked into the garment rather than a layer on top of it, so there is nothing to crack or peel. What thread can do is snag or pucker, which is why washing inside out matters more here.

How do I wash an embroidered anime shirt?

Turn it inside out, use a mesh laundry bag if you have one, and wash cold. Press from the back around the stitching, never on its face, and hang or lay it flat to dry, because a hot dryer can tighten the thread and pucker the cloth.

What fabric are the embroidered tees on?

The embroidered tees use the same blank as the vintage range: 32S cotton at 270gsm with a vintage wash finish, in a relaxed oversized cut that is true to size. The embroidered hoodies and knit in the collection are on their own blanks, named on each page.

Where is the embroidery placed?

Most pieces carry it on the chest, as a panel, a patch or a smaller mark, and a few run embroidery across the back. The product page for each design states the placement, so you can tell a small chest piece from a full-back one before ordering.
