Black Clover runs on one rule: everyone has magic, and the book they receive at fifteen decides what they can do with it. The clover on its cover is not decoration. The number of leaves tells you how the story regards the person holding it — and the five-leaf book at the center of the series belongs to a boy with no magic at all.
Here is what the grimoires, the squads and the devil inside Asta's book mean, and where each turns up across our Black Clover collection.
Grimoires and the five-leaf clover
In the Clover Kingdom every child attends the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony at fifteen. A grimoire flies to its owner from the shelves of the tower, and from then on it is a record: spells appear in its pages as the mage learns them. Nobody chooses a grimoire. The grimoire chooses them.
The cover carries a clover, and the leaf count is the information. Three leaves is the standard book; the series ties them to faith, hope and love. A fourth leaf is rare and marks its owner as blessed with luck; Yuno receives one. Within the fifth leaf, the story says, dwells a devil.
Asta's grimoire is a blackened five-leaf book. He has no magic, so nothing chooses him at the ceremony; the book comes later, when Yuno is in danger, and it is not new. It is a four-leaf grimoire from centuries earlier, its cover turned black, with a devil sealed inside.
Both boys grew up in Hage, a village beneath the enormous skull of a demon the first Wizard King defeated. The skull is on our Magic Knights Hage tee; the green four-leaf clover on the Verdant Ward tee is Yuno's book, not Asta's.
The Magic Knights and the nine squads
The Magic Knights are the Clover Kingdom's order of mages: nine squads under nine captains, answering to the Wizard King, the title both Asta and Yuno have sworn to reach.
Each squad is named for a color and an animal: Golden Dawn, Silver Eagles, Crimson Lions, Blue Roses, Green Mantises, Coral Peacocks, Purple Orcas, Aqua Deer, Black Bulls. Squads earn merit stars for missions and lose them for damage, and the Black Bulls begin the series in negative figures.
Recruitment is a yearly exam in the capital where the captains raise a hand for the recruits they want. Yuno is wanted by every squad and picks the Golden Dawn. Asta gets one hand, from the captain of the Black Bulls, a house of misfits with a base that walks and the worst reputation in the kingdom. Most of the series is spent proving the ranking table measures the wrong things.
The squad artwork in the collection uses the manga's panel language rather than a crest: the Magic Knights Panel tee, the Clover Warrior Panels tee and the Magic Knights vintage tee.

Asta's anti-magic swords
Asta cannot cast a spell. He has no mana, and every mage he meets can feel the absence. What he has instead is anti-magic: not an attribute like fire or wind but the negation of magic itself. It is not his own. It comes from the devil in the grimoire, as swords stored in the book's pages.
The Demon-Slayer Sword is a broad, heavy blade that cuts through spells. The Demon-Dweller Sword fires anti-magic outward and can channel the magic of allies. The Demon-Destroyer Sword undoes the effects of magic already cast. All three are absurdly heavy; Asta swings them because he spent his childhood training a body to make up for the magic he lacked.

Liebe, the devil in the book
The devil in Asta's grimoire is Liebe. Devils in the underworld are ranked by their magic, and Liebe was born with none, which made him the lowest of the low. He escaped into the human world and was found by a woman named Licita.
Licita's own magic drained the life from anything she touched, so she lived alone. Liebe, having no magic to take, was the one living thing she could hold. She raised him, and when a high-ranking devil tried to take his body, she sealed Liebe inside a five-leaf grimoire at the cost of her life. Licita was Asta's mother. Anti-magic is the only thing a magicless devil ever had, lent to a magicless boy.

Black form and Devil Union
When Liebe's anti-magic flows into Asta, the result is the black form: dark markings over half his face and body, a single horn and one black wing. It is the image most people picture, and it has a time limit: the body underneath is still human.
To bind a devil, a mage must defeat it in a Devil-Binding Ritual, after which the devil serves. Asta wins his fight with Liebe and refuses the master-and-servant contract, offering partnership instead. The result is Devil Union, the four Japanese characters on our Dark Ascend tee: both wings, markings across the whole body, a form belonging to two people rather than one.
The black form carries most of the collection: the Demon Form vintage tee, the hoodie and the heavier-cloth graphic tee, thread rather than print on the Clover Warrior embroidery tee, and a horned devil's face on the back of the Clover Warrior two-sided tee.

Yami and the Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash
Yami Sukehiro is the captain who raised his hand for Asta: a foreigner washed up as a boy from the Land of the Sun, who fights with a katana and dark magic, a rare attribute. Darkness here swallows other magic rather than blocking it, which is why Yami closes distance and cuts instead of casting.
His signature spell is the Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash: darkness wrapped around the blade and swung hard enough to cut through space itself. He also reads ki, a sense of presence unrelated to mana, and drills it into Asta. "Surpass your limits, right here, right now" is his line. The spell is the subject of the Yami Dark Dimension tee.

How this translates onto cloth
The black form dominates the collection because it is a silhouette: a horn, a wing, a blade, dark markings on a figure, shapes that hold when scaled down to a chest print. The Japanese on the Dark Ascend and Hage tees is the actual phrase or name rather than decorative lettering.
Most of the collection is garment-washed cotton with a bonded matte print, so the artwork sits flat without shining under direct light; the embroidery tee is dense stitching rather than a printed layer. Where a design sits varies and is stated on each product page.
