The vintage tee and the classic tee are the two T-shirt blanks in the Torazen range, and they are different garments rather than two grades of the same thing: 270gsm 32S cotton with a vintage wash finish and an oversized drop-shoulder cut, against 230gsm combed cotton, unwashed, in a standard fit that is true to size.
The short version: the vintage tee for weight, a softened surface and a boxy silhouette that hangs away from the body; the classic tee for a lighter, cleaner blank that sits where a conventional tee sits. The rest is the detail, with full measurement tables for both in centimeters and inches, so you can decide from numbers rather than from a letter on a label.
The cloth: 270gsm washed versus 230gsm combed
Gsm is grams per square meter: the weight of the fabric, not a grade. A square meter of the vintage tee cloth weighs 270 grams; the classic tee cloth weighs 230. That 40-gram gap is the first thing you feel: the vintage tee has more body, holds its shape and is more opaque; the classic tee drapes closer and breathes more.
The vintage tee is knitted from 32S cotton. The S number is a yarn count, and a higher number means a finer yarn, so 32S at 270gsm is a heavy cloth built from relatively fine thread. The full fiber breakdown is printed on the garment label.
Then it is garment-washed: the finished, sewn tee goes through a wash before it ships. That is where the soft hand and the faded, uneven color come from, and why the tee is pre-shrunk with minimal shrinkage: what you measure on arrival is close to what you keep.
The classic tee is 100% combed cotton at 230gsm, with a fine fish-scale texture at the hem and high color fastness. Combing removes the short fibers before spinning, leaving a smoother yarn and a flatter face. It has not been washed, so the surface takes finer line work and the color is a flat, even dye rather than a wash.

The cut: oversized drop-shoulder versus standard
The vintage tee is an oversized drop-shoulder cut: the shoulder seam sits down the upper arm instead of on the point of the shoulder, the body is wide, and the sleeve is short and boxy. On a hanger it looks too big; on the body it is meant to fall square and away from the torso.
The classic tee is a standard fit, true to size: shoulder seam on the shoulder, a normal amount of ease through the body, a conventional set-in short sleeve.
Both are true to size, in that your normal size gives you the look each is designed for. What differs is the direction of travel: size up on the vintage tee for a more exaggerated oversized look, on the classic tee for a roomier standard fit.

Vintage tee measurements
All measurements are of the garment laid flat. Chest is armpit to armpit across the front; HPS length is from the high point of the shoulder, beside the collar, straight down to the hem; shoulder is seam to seam across the back; sleeve is from the shoulder seam to the cuff. Centimeters first, then inches to the nearest half inch.
| Size | Chest (cm / in) | HPS length (cm / in) | Shoulder (cm / in) | Sleeve (cm / in) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 57 / 22.5 | 72 / 28.5 | 54 / 21.5 | 22 / 8.5 |
| M | 59 / 23 | 74 / 29 | 56 / 22 | 23 / 9 |
| L | 61 / 24 | 76 / 30 | 58 / 23 | 24 / 9.5 |
| XL | 63 / 25 | 78 / 30.5 | 60 / 23.5 | 25 / 10 |
| 2XL | 65 / 25.5 | 80 / 31.5 | 62 / 24.5 | 26 / 10 |
| 3XL | 67 / 26.5 | 82 / 32.5 | 64 / 25 | 27 / 10.5 |
Read across a row and the shape is clear: at a size M the tee is 59 cm / 23 in across the chest but only 74 cm / 29 in long, and the shoulder is nearly as wide as the chest.
Classic tee measurements
Same measuring points, same order.
| Size | Chest (cm / in) | HPS length (cm / in) | Shoulder (cm / in) | Sleeve (cm / in) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 52 / 20.5 | 71 / 28 | 52 / 20.5 | 20.4 / 8 |
| M | 54 / 21.5 | 73 / 28.5 | 54 / 21.5 | 21 / 8.5 |
| L | 56 / 22 | 75 / 29.5 | 56 / 22 | 21.4 / 8.5 |
| XL | 58 / 23 | 77 / 30.5 | 58 / 23 | 22 / 8.5 |
| 2XL | 60 / 23.5 | 79 / 31 | 60 / 23.5 | 22.4 / 9 |
| 3XL | 62 / 24.5 | 81 / 32 | 62 / 24.5 | 23 / 9 |
Shoulder and chest are the same number at every size, which is what a standard set-in shoulder looks like on a flat table: the seam lands at the edge of the body rather than beyond it.
The same size, side by side
Put the two tables together and the gap is consistent across the run: at every size the vintage tee is 5 cm / 2 in wider across the chest, 2 cm / 1 in wider at the shoulder and 1 cm / 0.5 in longer, and its sleeve is longer by about 1.5 cm / 0.5 in at S, growing to 4 cm / 1.5 in at 3XL.
The practical reading: a vintage L (61 cm / 24 in chest) is wider than a classic 2XL (60 cm / 23.5 in) and just under a classic 3XL (62 cm / 24.5 in). But the classic 3XL is also 5 cm / 2 in longer than the vintage L, and its shoulders still sit on the bone. Sizing a classic tee up three sizes does not give you the vintage tee; it gives you a long, standard-shouldered tee.
Who should pick which
Pick the vintage tee if you want the boxy, wide-shouldered silhouette; you like a softened, faded surface; you wear tees with wide-leg pants, where a longer, narrower tee looks thin; or you want the more opaque cloth under a bold, high-contrast print.
Pick the classic tee if you want a tee that fits like the ones you already own; you run warm and want the lighter cloth; you prefer a flat, even color and a smoother face for finer artwork; or you tuck in or layer under a shirt or an open zip-up, where a drop shoulder would bunch.
If you are tall and want length rather than width, size up on the classic tee: each size adds 2 cm / 1 in of length and 2 cm / 1 in of chest, and the cut stays standard. Sizing up the vintage tee adds the same length, but on that blank the extra width is the point.
If you are between sizes on the vintage tee, the smaller size still reads as oversized and the larger gives the exaggerated version, so decide by which you want. On the classic tee, the larger size is still a standard fit with more room.
Measure a tee you own, then order
The reliable way to choose is not S, M or L. Take a tee you own and like the fit of, lay it flat, and measure the chest armpit to armpit and the length from the top of the shoulder beside the collar to the hem. Find the row in the tables above that matches. Measure flat and unstretched, and take the chest just under the sleeve seam rather than across the widest point of the print.
Most of the archive, on both blanks, carries a bonded matte print; where the artwork sits is stated on each product page. Both blanks ship tracked, with 14-day returns and size exchanges from delivery. The measurements above and those for every other piece are on the sizing page; the exchange terms are on the FAQ.
Both cuts run through the archive: the Dragon Ball Z, Bleach and Naruto collections carry both blanks side by side.
